I'd love to win this! Got to love great giveaways like this!

#311 - red prada purse...pink wallet

And even more red & pink...I really love my red knock off prada purse I got on the streets of NYC 3 years ago. It's still in really great shape and I think I only paid $15 for 2 fake prada purses (the other is the same color but more of a handbag.)

Also, my pink wallet from Target is so handy to keep all my credit cards and coins (thanks Karli for picking it out for me.)

#309 - red, white & pink everywhere

Baby O was coloring the other day and I noticed the red, pink and white crayons. It made me excited for Valentines.

I then started noticing red, pink and white everywhere.

Eating $4/pound cherries, pink/white button cookies, red m&ms left over from Christmas, and strawberry mochi...yum!

watching Glee - "don't stop believing" - i only watched this b/c other people were blogging about it...my new favorite show...honest. (watch a couple of episodes for free on hulu, while they are still there)Baby O's red sweater, red pjs (on the ground), my pink shirt, red sweater and red shoes (from Casi). Notice anything?

Stay tuned...I have a couple more red, white and pink favorites.

#306 - jar full of buttons (cookies)

I saw some adorable button cookies here...and I decided to make some for Valentines. I didn't have any circle cookie cutters, so I used one of Baby O's cups, a very small jar and a chop stick to make them.

Instead of shortbread cookies, I made my sister-in-law's butter cookie recipe - my fav!
I then put a few in a small jar, to make a jar full of buttons. Baby O couldn't stop eating them (he even ate a little of the raw dough - yuck!)
I think this would be a cute Valentine's gift, I just need to figure out how to decorate the jar.

Oh, the cream cheese frosting recipe also goes really well with these cookies, but then you can't see the cool button imprint. Maybe I could get a smaller jar to package the frosting?

#305 - financially intelligent parent

Has anyone read this? I starting reading it last year at work during my break time. I really liked it but never finished it...I need to get it and finish it.

The one lesson I remembered was that parents who are too worried about money or vise versa too relaxed (irresponsible) about money are actually hurting their kids self confidence.

#302 - Cheesy Olive Bread & Chocolate Chip Cookies

The other night I made 2 different recipes I found on the web...yum...now I need to go on a diet.
Olive Cheese Bread from Pioneer Woman. If you go to Pioneer Woman's website, you'll get some gorgeous photos step by step on how it's made.

I tweaked the recipe just a little so here is how I made it:
Ingredients
  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • 12 ounces, weight Black Olives (2 cans) roughly chopped
  • 2 stalks Green Onions (scallions) thinly sliced
  • 1 stick Butter, Room Temperature
  • ½ cups Mayonnaise
  • ¾ pounds Mexican Blend Cheese
Preparation Instructions

Combine butter, mayonnaise, cheese, olives and green onions in a mixing bowl. Stir together until thoroughly combined. Spread mixture onto French bread that has been sliced lengthwise. Bake at 325ºF for 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and browning.

Then I made...Kami's Chocolate Chip Cookies. I used 1/2 chocolate chips and 1/2 butterscotch chips. The key to make the cookies melt in your mouth: Butter Flavored Crisco, flattening them before cooking and under cooking them just a little.

I had enough batter left over I froze some...yum!

#300 - Wooden Apple

We got this wooden apple in Costa Rica 5 years ago (and I think it was only $5-$7 dollars-yeah for a good deal.)

Love apples.

Love red.

Baby O kept looking inside the apple, thinking something might be in there, even though there wasn't something in it 5 seconds ago.

Love babies!

sorry the photos are blurry.

#299 - Have you read this?

I posted this on my shared links a couple of weeks ago and after watching this . . .

I will now:

1. Buy only fresh or jarred tomatoes (not canned)
2. Eat only organic grass fed beef - I usually do this anyway
3. Throw away all my microwave popcorn - only air pop or over the stove for me
4. Buy organic potatoes - I don't know where to get these, but I'm looking into it
5. Try to only eat wild salmon (I don't eat it that often)
6. Drink organic milk or at least rBGH free milk - we pretty much already do this
7. Try to eat organic apples - I need to work on this (I just bought 2 bags of cute organic apples from Trader Joes for cheap and they are good.)

I'd love this ice cream sandwich bench. It with go great with this ice cream lamp.
But, since it is a little out of my price range, maybe I could make this ice cream sandwich dessert instead? Doesn't it look good?

Maybe I could make one?

And the dog is guarding his closet.

#290 - One Legged Steve doll

Baby O got a Steve Irwin doll from his Aunt Wendy, and about 9 months ago he (the Steve doll) lost his leg. I was going to sew it back on but Pepe thinks I shouldn't. He thinks it teaches Baby O that some people might only have one leg.

What do you think? Should I sew his leg back on?
