This is just a quick post, but wanted to share how happy I am that all my co-workers are safe!
Today (well, now it is tomorrow), when I heard the news I couldn't stop thinking about all the kind, wonderful people I work with at Discovery!
Seriously, for television, you can't get much better than these folks. I love all the great friends I've made there!
I also hugged my two baby boys a little tighter tonight!

#135 - Mulch

Friday after work, Pepe, Baby O and I decided to cram into our small truck and head over to our local dump (ok, it has a fancier name, but I don't remember) to load up on the free mulch they have. (We are trying to get the most out of our crazy high county taxes we pay.) The dump closes at 8pm, and we got in right at 7:58pm. Pepe loaded up our truck super fast, but we weren't ready to go until about 8:06pm. As we got to the gate, we realized that we had been locked in.
I thought, "wow, this will be fun to blog about, we're spending the night at the dump". No worries, we found out how to get out, so no fun exciting story to tell.
I then thought, "heck, I can still blog about mulch, we got it for free," but quickly decided that no one would want to read about that.
But I digress.
So, here's the real reason I am writing this post and yes, it's about mulch.
Yesterday, our good friends' little boy fell from their 3rd story window. When I first heard, I was so scared/worried for him. I was praying my heart out for them (along with many others.)
Miraclously, he survived (and so far, no life threatening injuries.)

My friend said they had just put it down last week.
Now, who isn't loving mulch right now!?!
It's amazing how God works in mysterious ways.
Here's another amazing story (not anyone I know, but friends of friends.)

#111 - Four Leaf Clovers
I found 2 once when I was little.
I kept them for a long time (they may even still be around pressed into one of my books.)
They made me lucky.
Lucky to have such a wonderful hubby (who gave me a back rub last for at least 10 minutes, maybe 15 (this is progress folks) because I was having a rough day)
Lucky to have an adorable little son (who makes me so proud to be a mom)
Lucky to have all my friends and family (I love you guys!)
Have you ever found a four leaf clover?

#65 - What's Better Than One Bald Baby?
Two Bald Babies.
Jason and Mackie came by to visit today. They have a cute little bald baby that is just a few weeks older than Baby O. I'm sure they'll be great friends. They already played together today; which consisted of Baby O stealing C's toys.
Oh no, I gotta teach that boy.

#36 - Cuttin Down a Christmas Tree

On Saturday, we went with our friends, Grant, Anna and Jeff, to cut down a Christmas tree. It's the first time I had ever done this (growing up, I'd always be the one to put our fake tree up the day after Halloween) and I thought it would be a little like the Griswald's adventure in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Instead, we had a pretty fun adventure.
Here's some highlights from the day:
-Eating 3 meals with our friends
Breakfast was bacon, eggs and potatoes.
Lunch was chicken sandwiches.
Dinner was taco salad.
-Pepe and Grant got to use the chainsaw.
-First snowfall of the year, we were sliding all over the road on our way home.
-Baby O wore his Chirstmas outfit from Grandma and Grandpa.
-The girls and Baby O rode in one car, the boys rode in the truck.

#35 - Candles in the Windows - dual purpose
Since we just moved, I just unpacked our candles. Only one has a functioning blub, although I must say the other 5 did last for the past 3 years. For Pepe's birthday I couldn't find any candles (they are packed in a box somewhere), so we used our only working candle to put atop his birthday cake. (He didn't have a cake, nor did we put it on top of anything, that would have been messy, but you get the idea.) We sang him Happy Birthday and then he blew out his candle (which consisted of our friend Grant turning clicking off the light).
You might want to keep this in mind for your next Birthday Party. One click of the switch, the candle always blows out and no spit on the cake. Oh, and they also look good in the windows afterwards.
*Talked with my dad tonight (12/7/08) and he claims he keeps the house at 65 degrees. I still think he kept it at 55 growing up :)

#16 - Frances

Then he said, "oh really, that's awesome!"
My interest was peaked, I was fully awake wanting to know the good news.
Pepe (still on the phone), "So today at 2:30...great we'll be there."
I knew the good news...or at least had a really good idea.
Me (just as Pepe is hanging up the phone), "Frances is getting baptised, right?"
At 2:30pm later that day, Frances got baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
I was her youth leader for 2+ years and she has always been such a good example to me... inspired me with her faith and love for others.
I remember giving a lesson on the importance of marriage and without asking, she told me how important it was for her to get married in the Temple someday.
...that's a day I will never forget.

#3 - LOUD Family

The LOUD Family with my friend Stacey
Pepe and I (and Baby O before he was born) had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with this family. I met them through work and then they invited Pepe and I over to their campground for dinner. They made yummy chicken over the fire and we hung out with them for a while just chatting about our lives. I hope they stop by when they are in town again, we now have a place big enough to host them.
If you want to see them, they are on TLC (tonight) and some other days too.
