#196 - Brazilian Treat BRIGADEROS

We went to Franchesca's (aka Baby O's girlfriend), 1 year-old birthday party and they had one of my favorite Brazilian treats there, Brigaderos.

Here's the recipe I got from the person who made them:

1 can of sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons Quik or chocolate powder
chocolate sprinkles

In a pan, stir sweetened milk, butter and Quik over medium heat until you can drag the spoon through the middle of the pan and it leaves a trail. Pour it out on a cookie sheet with ledges. When it cools, it will get easier to mold. Roll into tiny balls (about 1 - 1 1/2 inches in diameter). Roll in sprinkles.

The nice thing about this recipe is that you can add more or less butter and Quik. You can roll in nuts or anything or nothing. You can make the balls bigger or smaller (I like smaller ones because you can eat more.)

I was trying to remember how to make these...! Thanks for the reminder! We made them a few too many times in Sao Borja (my last area)...some of them actually made it out of the house to baptisms and friends and elders.
